Focus on Women
Theresia joined ROSE as a single mother of 7 children, had less than a primary school education, and did not earn an income. Theresia was one of the first women to graduate the 1-year ROSE program. Today, Theresia earns $1,300/month selling fabrics and baby clothes to expectant mothers. In her spare time, she volunteers to disciple new ROSE women.
The Problem
689 million people live on less than $1.90 a day. Two-thirds of the global extreme poor live in Sub-Saharan Africa. Women bear an unparalleled burden of poverty, often abused, abandoned and single-caregivers for multiple children.
